Climb the cathedral tower

We’ll be climbing the cathedral tower for some beautiful views of the city.

The tower is 101m high and is accessed via two lifts followed by 108 stairs. If you don’t like heights this isn’t for you!

Picnic and games at Sefton park

Picnic and games in one of our favourite green spaces in Liverpool. Bring your own picnic!

We’ll meet at the palm house at 12.00 and find a nice patch of grass from there.

There’s a co-op on nearby Lark Lane if you want to pick up food en route.

Getting there:

  • The train costs £3.40 return and takes 6 minutes from Liverpool Central or Moorfields to St Michaels station. From St Michaels it’s a 15 minute walk to the park via the delightful Lark Lane.
  • A taxi to Sefton park from the city centre will cost about £7 one way.
  • Driving: There is on street parking around the park.

Civil ceremony

Our ceremony is in the Grand Jury room at St George’s Hall in the city centre.

Please arrive by 10:45 and wait in the Power and Glory Foyer (yes that really is its name!) and wait for Paul to arrive.

We have limited capacity in the Grand Jury room so we can’t fit you all in. You should have heard by email whether to come to the ceremony or drinks and snacks in the garden straight after.

Getting there: St George’s Hall is in the city centre and so you can either walk or taxi there.

Getting there: We’ll be having a procession en mass from St John’s gardens to our party venue, Oh Me Oh My. The walk is flat and will take 15 minutes, if that’s not your thing (or if it plans to rain cats and dogs) then please book a taxi.

BBQ at West Kirby Beach

A beach BBQ on the beautiful Wirral coastline, overlooking the river Dee to North Wales.

We're providing barbecues, plates and wooden forks. Bring your own food and drink.

It's technically a no alcohol zone so be discreet if you bring booze.

There is an enormous Morrisons which closes at 4pm. It also has a free ATM and toilets.

There's a cash-only chippie and ice cream shop by the beach entrance.

Watersports in the Albert Dock

This is a wonderful way to see the Albert Dock from the water. Lisa will be leading a flotilla of paddleboarders and Paul will be heading up the flock of kayaks.

Sailing, windsurfing and inflatable aquapark also available.
